My partner and I are total beginners and this was perfect for us. The three heart cutouts make that satisfying smack sound with barely any effort, so you get the fun without real pain.

The split tip gives a surprisingly loud smack with barely any effort, which is exactly what I wanted for lighter play. Only gripe is the hearts are a bit smaller than they looked in the photos. Still a solid starter paddle.
